JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will focus primarily on topics related to employee health and benefits including U.S. healthcare reform, employee wellbeing, employee health costs and program delivery, benchmarking and best practices. The writer will also cover retirement benefits and HR issues related to mergers and acquisitions, but to a lesser extent.

The Role

• Quickly and efficiently assimilating materials such as research findings, presentations and webcasts that are typically supplied as background to an assignment.

• Making recommendations for content development in consultation with marketers, based on business objectives and key target groups.

• Working closely with business leaders and subject matter experts to establish key themes and develop storylines that resonate with target audiences. Using interview skills to limit and maximize their time input.

• Producing high impact content in a range of formats including: survey reports, white papers, web site and magazine articles, web landing pages, infographics, Q&As, blog posts and social media posts.

• Working collaboratively with design team to develop visually compelling content.

• Using metrics to continuously improve content and engagement.

• Meeting agreed deadlines and specifications. Establishing and managing required internal and external approval processes.

• Ensuring that all materials worked on meet Willis Towers Watson’s brand and editorial guidelines.

• Updating editorial calendar and project workflows in conjunction with Marketing project managers.

• Participating in regularly scheduled Editorial and Content team meetings.

• Staying current with key topics in areas of focus as well as best practices in social media and digital communications.

• Completing performance review and career development procedures as directed by line manager.

• Completing mandatory company policy and compliance training.

The Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related concentration.

• Eight to ten years’ experience, either in a similar corporate writing/editing/PR role or as a business journalist/freelancer writing news and in-depth features.

• Confident in writing for digital and social media.

• Strong research and interviewing skills and ability to communicate complex ideas in a jargon-free and engaging manner.

• Clear understanding of how to write content that is search-engine friendly and ability to fully leverage content across multiple digital and social media channels.

• Understanding of how to use infographics in support of content strategy.

• Excellent project and time management skills.

• Ability to earn trust and collaborate with senior-level executives.

• Ability to work independently but collaboratively in a team-based environment and to build relationships internally to meet editorial and marketing objectives.

• Knowledge of human resources and employee benefit issues a plus.

• Familiarity with video or podcast production a plus
