The Business Analyst coordinates testing, quality assurance, configuration, and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of technology solutions. S/he conducts business analysis, configuration and reporting activities to support service teams operation.

The Role

The Business Analyst role will be an integral part of a Canadian National team that will deliver technical solutions in a quality and efficient manner. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding business processes to provide ongoing support and documenting change requirements.

  • Creating and maintaining the Business Requirement Documents for WTW Canada development.

  • Collaborating with business and technical resources to identify and develop process improvement initiatives.

  • Learn application configurations and assist with implementations to meet business objectives.

  • Providing assistance to WTW North America IT during onboarding of Group Programs.

  • Liaising and following up with WTW North America IT on the day to day configuration progress.

  • Running queries and reports from systems in production and conduct data mining and analysis.

  • Assisting in the creation of solutions/enhancements attached to systems and applications in production.

  • Assisting on initiatives to identify platform or business requirements gaps, provide recommendations and alternatives to business issues by assisting in defining, analyzing, configuring and testing different processes for potential business solutions.

  • Performing system analysis and engage directly with IT coworkers (including, Architecture, Development, Infrastructure and Database teams) to identify root cause issues, provide recommendations and participate in resolution planning.

  • Supporting new corporate initiatives by learning new data types, technologies, and client needs in order to support the evolving business.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related area.

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience or training in: RDBMS, SQL, Web-based applications and tools.

  • Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution is required.

  • Experience with Commercial Insurance Industry is preferred, but not required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Experience working with the local and offshore teams is preferred.

  • Ability to work on “virtual” teams with members from different geographic areas.

  • Ability to multi-task, and be mindful of deadlines.

  • Self-motivated and ability to remain focused on assigned projects.
