The Benefits Outsourcing H&W Team Manager allocates resources, manages workflow and oversees the developmental needs of a team of associates in support of Benefits Outsourcing goals; assigns project responsibilities to individuals, supports daily activities and facilitates workflow; oversees applications of standards and methodologies to ensure consistency; uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; works under general supervision as well as leads and directs the work of others.

The Role

  • Work with the Delivery Manager, Manila Team Leaders and appropriate Benefits Outsourcing NA H&W colleagues to promote an optimal client delivery environment that supports timely, quality, and efficient delivery of client services.

  • Provide sound staffing recommendations to achieve business and organizational needs.

  • The Team Manager role is expected to be 25% of the workload, depending on the number of direct reports. The remaining responsibilities are defined by the functional role/s and are not listed in this job description.

  • Resolve team/resource issues with other Team Managers, and Pod Delivery Manager.

  • Support and execute business plan to deliver planned performance which creates leverage to generate revenue and profit in accordance with financial targets.

  • Assist in efforts to achieve utilization goals for the H&W community and proactively facilitate achievement of utilization goals of team members.

  • Provide leadership for the Health Line of Business (HLOB).

  • Provide direct management to team members. Coordinate staffing with Pod Delivery Manager, and other Team Managers, assist in training, mentoring and developing associates in the HLOB.

  • Set performance objectives for team members, routinely follow up with team members to assess progress, review workloads, provide feedback, discuss employee engagement and help associates grow in their careers. Remove roadblocks that keep associates from getting opportunities and growing.

  • Conduct performance reviews, performance plans if needed and provide associates with feedback that allows them to grow and develop.

  • Ensure continuous development and growth of associates, assist associates in understanding the career paths available and help with career development.

  • Additional management activities include: project staffing, process and procedures, career development, competency definition, succession planning, training, hiring, morale, etc.

  • Manage performance issues. Provide timely constructive feedback.

  • Sustain a high level of associate engagement. Champion and advocate an atmosphere that will support associate retention.

  • Foster teamwork, positive morale, open communication and “make WTW a great place to work in”

  • Collaborate with other role groups and business segments to find areas of synergies and participation to promote teamwork across teams.

  • Demonstrate leadership within the leadership community.

  • Be a model of WTW core values.

The Requirements

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience desired, functional or industry knowledge, in the application of technology to solve Human Resources needs, such as: pension administration, health and welfare administration, HR self-service, systems integration and HRIS/Payroll.

  • Attention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to multi-task in the midst of tight deadlines

  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and continuous improvement

  • Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and project organization skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve difficult problems in a complex environment

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills particularly in resolving team management issues

  • Actively and effectively lead a team, motivate team members to initiate process improvements

  • Strong organizational abilities and flexibility to work in a performance driven environment

  • Ability and desire to promote professional development of associates

  • Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and continuous improvement

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Ability to travel, and work extended hours as needed.

  • Experience working with the US is preferred

  • Ability to work on “virtual” teams with members from different geographic areas

  • Self-motivated and ability to remain focused on assigned projects.
