JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Operations Consultant in Pharmacy Group Purchasing (RxGP) you will manage operations for delivery of services to 350+ RxGP clients that participate in various pharmacy benefit coalition solutions. You will act as a liaison between the RxGP team and internal functions, including finance, marketing, human resources and the legal team. You will work largely with internal teams that include pharmacy consultants and project managers, Health and Benefits (HB) consultants and internal support associates.

The Role

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Significantly enhance your pharmacy/health and welfare plan knowledge and expertise

  • Collaborate with a strong team of highly experienced consultants within the HB practice as well as engage in cross-functional activities

  • Enhance your analytic, written and verbal communication skills

  • Partner with the leading PBMs in the industry

  • Lead major RxGP initiatives

  • Support business infrastructure for the RxGP group to ensure our legal, financial, HR and marketing processes meet brand and industry standards

  • Participate in the creation of the next generation of RxGP services and approaches including participating in the negotiation of the next generation PBM contracts and business agreements

Performance Objectives:

Financial

  • Co-lead the billing process to ensure accurate invoicing, collection and revenue recognition

  • Work with Finance team to periodically review revenue recognition process and respond to internal audit inquiries. Provide revenue projections to HB leadership

  • Work with Operations team to review Willis Towers Watson contracts with clients to ensure compliance with legal requirements and that they accurately describe services and fees

Clients

  • RxGP offerings include group-level communications, including a monthly newsletter, and quarterly client calls. Work with members of the RxGP team and pharmacy consultants to develop content and deliver to clients

  • Co-lead project management of our premier client event, the RxGP Annual employer meeting, with one or more PBM partners. Participate in content development, including pharmacy and broader healthcare topics. Coordinate registration and invitation process with PBM and internal marketing teams

  • Participate in development of sales materials and Annual Report to clients

  • Manage client team’s expectations and raise appropriate issues to leadership

  • Ensure projects meet timeline and quality standards

  • Demonstrate our client first focus and professionalism when dealing with clients or client deliverables

Excellence

  • Adhere to Willis Towers Watson best practices and standards. Work with the internal teams to identify and implement new standards as appropriate. Communicate and implement new process across the RxGP team

  • Perform recurring client activities and align their focus with broader, more strategic RxGP and HB initiatives

  • Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and clients of all levels

People

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

  • Collaborate with pharmacy consultants to support RxGP initiatives and build trusted advisor relationships with our internal stakeholders

  • Develop a relationship with key PBM contacts to allow you to effectively manage ongoing services and both internal and client requests

  • Mentor junior Operations and RxGP team members

The Requirements

  • 6-8+ years’ relevant project management and operational leadership experience; consulting/brokerage firm/ PBM, insurance company experience is a plus.

  • A professional presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills required

  • Able to develop point of view and communicate process and detailed information to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated mathematical, analytical and computational skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel

  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients, PBM partners and colleagues at all levels

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various shareholders,

  • Enjoy and excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work product

  • Ability to recognize and diagnose issues

  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity

  • Demonstrated attention to detail in all work product

  • Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking pride in it

  • Interest in continually challenging oneself and willingness to step outside of one’s comfort zone. Adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously and adhering to strict project deadlines

  • Bachelor’s degree
