Willis Towers Watson’s Individual Marketplace solutions business is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to be the key interface between product and sales team members, responsible for articulating our value and vision for our products and services.

Ideal candidates must have a desire to listen to customers and be able to translate market needs into products and services in response to market feedback. You must enjoy spending time with colleagues and clients to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions to meet the needs of the market. You must be comfortable communicating with all areas of the company and executive management.

Candidates should be able to write well and organize information clearly. You must have a command of how our products serve our business needs. Your success will depend on your ability to get along with a diverse group of colleagues, spread throughout the country, from all parts of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The Product Marketing Manager will work with our various product teams to communicate the business implications of our work with the rest of our organization, clients, and prospects. The Product Marketing Manager will:

  • Produce and publish a Product Update two to four times per year. The product update describes recently completed work as well as work in-process. Sales Team members, Client Services members, and Client Relationship Directors use the Product Update when talking with Clients and Prospects about our most recent technological advancements.

  • Interpret the product roadmap to educate Sales team, Client Services team, and Client Relationship Directors on our 1-3 year product vision. Organize educational sessions and create collateral to make this vision easily shareable with clients and prospects.

  • Conduct ad hoc product marketing efforts, including preparation for the annual product summit, and support of our product integration efforts across Business Delivery and Administration lines of business.

The Product Marketing Manager will work with our Sales team members, Client Services managers, and Client Relationship Directors to collect market feedback that will guide future product efforts. The Product Marketing Manager will:

  • Analyze the competitive landscape. Keep a database of our competitors, understand the arguments they use to sell against us, and recommend ways to push back against their arguments. Keep a running list of wins and losses, and lessons learned from each. Collect intelligence through colleague interviews, competitor website review, and tracking of third party industry reports.

  • Collect feedback to inform product decision-making. Interview sales team members ahead of the product summit to establish their preferences for product priorities. Conduct similar interviews throughout the year as needed. Also interview Client Services managers and Client Relationship Directors as needed. Summarize and present intelligence gathered as part of the product development process.

The Product Marketing Manager will work with our field organization by communicating the product team’s work in support the development of marketing materials, including:

  • Messaging, press releases, and tutorials, and field enablement tools such as case studies, presentations, white papers, sales kits, newsletter content and other supporting documentation.

The Product Marketing Manager will work on go-to-market plans for Willis Towers Watson’s current and newly developed products, including

  • Updated pricing and new services rollouts for our current Individual Marketplace retiree solutions.

  • Go-to-market messaging, pricing, and communications for future retiree solutions, including retail and mid-market solutions.

Requirements

Ideal candidates should have the following skills/experience:

– At least 3 years’ experience in services/product marketing experience.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build presentations that express ideas.

– Strong analytical and strategic thinking combined with a history of getting things done.

– BA; MBA or other advanced degree highly desirable.

– Willingness to travel as needed.
