As a DevOps Principal Engineer, you will play a central role in the design, development, and delivery of systems infrastructure, cloud migration, and both back and front-end systems for Willis Towers Watson. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure as Code, Networking, and SOLID architecture. Will have a strong background in building scalable, resilient, and secure systems built by C#/.Net engineers. Candidate should be a polyglot coder with strong systems and cloud experience.

As a senior member of the development team, we are looking for someone to be a mentor to others, an advocate of best practices, and an active coach amongst the engineering teams they’ll work most closely with. The Role

• Contribute to building an environment where technical excellence and delivery of outstanding software is in focus

• Actively mentor engineers to develop their expertise

• Work with engineering teams as they start new projects to ensure a maintainable architecture is created

• Adhere to and advocate for development best practices including test driven development, configuration management, cloud adoption, and agile methodologies

• Contribute ideas for continually improving the team’s productivity, code, and system quality

• Become an expert in our existing systems in order to innovate on their further improvement.

The Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in producing software; last 2-4 contributing at a Senior or Principal level

• Expert experience with Networking and Load-Balancing, F5 experience is a plus

• Expert in at least 3 coding languages, experience with C#, Python, and JavaScript is a plus

• Expert experience with Test-Driven Development

• Expert in CI/CD best practices

• Expert in architecting micro-service systems

• Expert in Configuration Management for both Windows and Linux Systems, experience with Salt and Terraform a plus

• Expert in Cloud Migrations, experience with Azure a plus though AWS experience is highly applicable. VMWare experience for existing on-prem work experience is also applicable.

• Strong Chaos Engineering Experience

• Organize and prioritize individual workload in order to meet required deadlines

• Communicate effectively with team members, team leads, and management

• Work as a member of a team, accept ownership of work and actively contribute to team discussions

• Excellent decision-making skills
