Summary of Role

As a Senior Investment Analyst in the Client Reporting Team you will review analytical reports to monitor various aspects of our clients’ pension portfolios. Our portfolio managers, client teams and clients use these to make key decisions and recommendations about the investment of client assets. Our team source information and data concerning our clients’ investment portfolios from external companies such as custodians and fund managers, as well as from colleagues within Willis Towers Watson. With this data we produce professional reports of excellent technical and editorial standard, predominantly using Excel, PowerPoint and in-house systems.

Reporting and Data is a team within the Investments line of business dedicated to internal and external reporting, post-trade compliance, and data management. The Client Reporting function is responsible for the monitoring reports referred to below.

The Role

  • Reviewing technically complex reports/information

  • Communicating and collaborating with colleagues of all seniorities across a business and/or external data providers (such as custodians and fund managers)

  • Creating various reporting outputs using an array of packages to a very high standard

  • Be able to quickly learn WTW’s internal systems and procedures to a high degree, in order to review client work

  • Coaching or training others, in order to support junior analysts

Main responsibilities:

  • Offering technical expertise and support to junior analysts and teams across the investment business

  • Using interpersonal skills and keen eye for detail to collaborate with teams across the business to create high-quality reports of excellent technical and editorial standard

  • Using appropriate tools to produce and review regular and ad hoc monitoring reports, papers and analyses

  • Review material that is generic in nature and may feature in many clients’ reports, such as our market summaries

  • Take ongoing ownership of internal and external monitoring for a variety of clients

  • Support other work requirements, not limited to ad hoc administration and projects

After a short period in the role it is likely you will be expected to:

  • Learn WTW’s internal systems and procedures to a high degree, in order to review client work

  • Lead work project groups within the team

  • Take a lead role in projects within the function, team or wider business

  • Assist in the development of new business or service lines

The Requirements

  • Good organisational skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

  • A keen eye for detail

  • Experience in pensions, asset management or investment (desirable)

The analyst structure in the team has several levels and we are able to vary the level hired at based on qualifications and experience. The wide range of skills needed for this role mean that people from a number of educational backgrounds and different levels of experience could be successful in this position.
