As a Senior Absence and Disability Management (ADM) Consultant you will serve as lead consultant and strategist to some of the world’s leading organizations regarding their Sick Pay, Salary Continuance, Statutory Disability, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, Family and Medical Leave (FML), Vacation and Paid Time-off (PTO), Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance. You will manage relationships, participate in selling new projects to current and prospective clients, and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new intellectual capital, working with some of the world’s experts in the field.

The Role

Primary accountability for creating and executing a business strategy in order to meet annual revenue goals

Significantly contribute to new business opportunities for health management work with new and current clients through such strategies as:

Coordinating with existing sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities

Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximize the penetration of key target accounts

Leveraging existing market knowledge and contacts

Lead ADM engagements

Serve as senior ADM strategist on projects within HGB teams, ensuring that the ADM strategy fits within overall health benefits design

Develop leveraged teams and plans for execution of ADM-specific client engagements

Ensure the progress of the team against established budget, time line and quality standards (while you have overall responsibility, consultant level staff typically serve as day to day project managers)

Finalize and present quality deliverables to clients

Manage ADM client relationships:

Establish a trusted advisor role with clients and provide consistent, superior relationship management

Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services

Serve as the senior strategist on ADM projects

Development of strategies for organizational absence and disability management programs

Development of time-off, productivity, and return to work programs

Absence management , disability and life insurance vendor selection, procurement and optimization

Compliance audits of short and long term disability and other paid time off or leave of absence programs

Interpretation and communication of government laws and regulations affecting employer’s absence and disability programs

Related Health and Group Benefits projects

Perform technical review of work products

Contribute to the development of new ADM tools and approaches

Demonstrate extensive leadership ability by mentoring other consultants

Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

The Requirements

  • Proven ability to generate revenue

  • Track record of managing large client relationships and leading large teams

  • Deep technical expertise in the design, funding and administration principles of absence and time-off programs

  • Significant experience and success in delivering ADM consulting services to premiere clients, preferably gained in a consulting or brokerage environment but carrier experience is acceptable.

  • Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in ADM and broader HGB plan strategy and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches

  • An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills

  • Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization

  • Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges
