This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to take on a new role as part of the Technology Sales team working within Willis Towers Watson, a major global brand in the insurance industry. You will be selling our software products and technology solutions across the territory to a combination of existing users and new names. The role will report to the Head of Technology Sales – The Americas. In this role you will work closely with the Head of Technology Sales to develop and execute the sales strategy for your accounts.

The Insurance Consulting Technology (ICT) business of Willis Towers Watson is primarily focused on the insurance industry. We are also a leading provider of financial modeling software and technology solutions to the insurance industry. Our clients include most of the leading global insurers as well as many of the largest financial services companies and other corporations.

Willis Towers Watson is a market leader in the provision of predictive modelling, actuarial projection, pricing and risk management solutions for insurance industries worldwide. Our key clients in North America cover the majority of the top 20.

In North America, we currently have a team focused exclusively on software and technology solution sales, pre-sales support, and account management activities. We are seeking to enhance the team by adding an enthusiastic and driven individual with a background in technology in the insurance industry / risk software / Software sales and/or experience in selling to and negotiating with senior decision makers, including IT and procurement departments.

NOTE — This position should be located in the East US region

The Products

The team is responsible for the sales of all of our software products which include but are not limited to:

Radar Live – The solution to deliver real time pricing for PC and life products based on actuarial analysis of markets and risk

Emblem – Pricing software that uses generalized linear models for predictive modeling

Igloo – Market leading capital modeling solution for PC clients

ResQ – Reserving software

RAFM – Willis Towers Watson’s exciting new actuarial modeling platform

RiskAgility Economic Capital – An application designed to aggregate data from individual business units to provide group wide risk management analysis

Unify – Bringing robotics to the insurance business

Responsibilities:

Sales and Strategic Direction

• Achieve or exceed license sales targets

• Sell new name licenses

• Sell additional products and licenses to existing key clients

• Take a leadership role in developing and executing a sales strategy for your clients

• Take an active role in the overall client development plan for the major clients

• Lead the sales team on developing and closing opportunities

• Work with the wider Willis Towers Watson Consulting group to sell products and services

• Build strong relationships both internally with software sales and broader consulting group and externally with the client base

• Build relationships with Willis Towers Watson business partners, e.g., Microsoft

• Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels

• Foster a collaborative working environment for the sales team, the other members of the pre-sales team, the development team and any Towers Watson consulting teams engaged with prospective clients

• Work with the sales team and the consultants to create proposals based on the existing products to conform to prospective client’s requirements whilst looking for ways to expand our offerings

• Ensure all team members can clearly articulate the overall Willis Towers Watson value proposition and specifically the features and benefits of our set of core software products.

Depth of Knowledge

• Develop an in-depth understanding of our client’s needs and challenges

• Including regulatory change and industry drivers

• Understand the functionality of Willis Towers Watson’s core software products and consultant service offerings

• Be able to demonstrate the capabilities, features and benefits of all products effectively, both formally and informally

• Ability to articulate the product architecture and proposition from a business point of view

• Capture emerging new requirements from the market and communicate these requirements to the product management team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Understanding of financial services, ideally the insurance industry.

• Fluent in English

• Ability to prospect to find client upgrade and new name opportunities

• Ability to create need in clients for our products

• Ability to relate to both business users and technology clients at all levels within an organization

• Ability to communicate at all levels within the client-facing environment

• Willingness to undertake significant travel
