The Role

The Assistant Regional Compliance Officer reports to one Regional Compliance Officer and primarily assists with activities designed to keep Willis Towers Watson offices in compliance with various internal and external regulations and requirements. This position interacts and works closely with other North America and Global Compliance Officers and Regional and Local Office Leaders.

  • Assisting Compliance Officer(s) in their efforts to advise and guide Regional, Business Unit Management, Operations Centers and Business Unit Compliance Officers on applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures designed to mitigate business risk and exposure

  • Providing support and guidance to Management and staff in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure all business activities are conducted in accordance with the highest ethical standards

  • Administering Compliance data and information, conducting file reviews and providing appropriate feedback and training, communicating and delivering presentations to various audiences and maintaining the Compliance intranet site.

  • Monitoring adherence to standards through the collection and analysis of errors and omissions data, business-led self-assessment file reviews, and working closely with Willis Internal Audit to determine potential enterprise risk and designing and implementing necessary corrective actions.

The Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of insurance industry experience ideally in client services or placement roles.

  • Prior legal, audit, compliance and/or regulatory experience helpful but not required.

  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  • Have excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain good solid relationships with colleagues and clients.

  • Ability to multitask, take initiative and work successfully with minimal supervision.

  • Strong professional demeanor and presence, commitment to the insurance industry and attention to detail and accuracy must haves.
