The Role

This position is for a recognized subject matter expert in Claims Advocacy capable of managing mid to high level complexity claims. This position is responsible for pursuing insurance recoveries for clients to ensure the most equitable return on their insurance investment, while minimizing the impact of adverse events on their business.

This individual is expected to provide coverage and claims strategy advice to clients on claims with varying levels of complexity in regard to coverage issues that require a full range of expertise to solve including the ability to:

  • Identify appropriate policies and coverage availability on highly complex coverage issues

  • Lead highly complex claims process for clients including detailed client claim review meetings.

  • Participation in claims strategy discussions in order to ensure progress from notification through to closure.

  • Liaise with insurers and their advisors on queries and policy coverage discussions in order to support smooth review and successful settlement of claims for clients.

  • Develops thought leadership materials and assists with the drafting of communication documents with clients including correspondence letters, claims articulation and causal analysis, calculations and document review as prepared by the clients in order to support highly complex claims recovery for clients.

The Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Motivated self-starter capable of working in a dynamic, fast paced team environment

  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills

  • Technically strong in all lines of Property & Casualty insurance

  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite of software

  • 10 years’ experience in the claims space in some combination either at the adjustor, carrier or brokerage level
