The Role

Dealing with a varied and international client base predominately placed in the London market, coordinating the whole process from receipt of client documentation, through the agreement process and ensuring settlements are completed. We will also sponsor you to complete your chartered professional qualification with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

  • Supporting a busy team in every aspect of client, market or internal service delivery.

  • Working to ensure each client meets agreed target profitability levels.

  • Marketing, negotiating, placing and on-going servicing of clients’ business

  • Background research relating to client projects

  • Supporting internal governance, compliance, risk and operational work

  • Involvement in the governance, promotion and tracking of revenue opportunities

  • Analytical reviews and reporting of data

  • Servicing of clients’ claims

  • Responding to clients on insurance and market information as required

  • Basic account handling

  • Use of tailored IT systems

Brokerage

  • Working as a team member to become actively engaged in driving the production process for new business and maintaining existing business

  • Providing technical and commercial risk and reinsurance analysis to clients

  • Maintaining strong client and reinsurer relationships

  • Negotiate renewals and endorsements with reinsurers

  • Prepare and present client and market presentations in Excel, Word and PowerPoint formats

  • Drafting contracts

  • Ability to engage with our actuarial colleagues and to demonstrate a level of comfort in discussions on these subjects both internally and with clients

The Requirements

Minimum 2:1 degree and 128 UCAS points (2017 tariff) including A-Level Maths/Economics grade A/B or equivalent qualification.

Skills and Attributes:

*Languages – we are looking for fluent Spanish OR French speakers*

  • Good interpersonal skills, able to build strong business relationships and negotiation skills

  • Enthusiasm and passion to learn about Insurance, Risk and Reinsurance

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills – must be able to quickly grasp complex issues

  • An awareness of the sales and negotiation process

  • Ability to learn and follow internal procedures and controls

  • Flexible approach to work and able to adapt to change

  • The ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Team player

  • Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail

  • Verbal and written communication and ability to explain matters to non-specialists

  • Good IT skills

  • Desire to take early responsibility

  • Initiative and an eagerness to drive projects to a successful conclusion

  • High degree of self-discipline, commitment and modesty combined with an ability to manage own expectations.

Start date for the UK Graduate Programme will be the end of August 2018

Candidates must be eligible to work in the EEA on a permanent basis without sponsorship
