The Willis Towers Watson (WTW) Global Services and Solutions (GSS) practice has an enviable client portfolio that focuses on multi-national companies across all sectors, including Financial Services, Oil & Gas/Natural Resources, Retail, Media, Pharmaceutical, Construction and Engineering, Transport and Manufacturing.

Willis Towers Watson’s GSS team is dedicated to serving the needs of the headquarters of our multinational clients. Operating in the global market place means multinational companies face a variety of different business, cultural, language and regulatory environments. Our GSS helps these companies navigate these challenges. We advise multinational companies on certain specialist topics where the GSS has unique experience, and we also act as a single point of contact to help solve client questions where we draw on the expertise of all our colleagues from around the world.

The role

This role will entail supporting our multinational clients in the delivery of global actuarial and global benefit consulting services to the headquarters and coordination of local consulting services to these clients relating to actuarial and employee benefit issues. This role will include:

• Coordination and project management of multi-country projects such as global benefit benchmarking exercises, total reward alignment and cost savings projects, governance processes.

• Working in diverse client teams to deliver advice to the headquarters of our multinational clients on employee benefit matters around the world. Such areas of advice could include benefit design, local compliance, local and global governance process, merger & acquisition activity, provider selection and benefit delivery, global benefit financing and risk management structures.

• Key areas of focus will include Global Defined Benefit Consulting, Global Healthcare & Wellbeing, Benefits Management Optimisation & Delivery, Global Benefit Financing and Global Defined Contribution consulting.

• Coordinating and delivering internationally recognised financial reporting standards global consolidation projects and advice to multinational clients related to these disclosures. Including consulting with the client around project management, accounting policy, assumption setting, special events reporting, coordination of the results and production of disclosures and reports to support these disclosures.

• Working in broad teams from across WTW to lead and support on the GSS elements of wider client engagements

• Keeping abreast of changes in legislation, market practice or otherwise, identification of issues and proactively supporting clients in addressing these.

• Working with our global clients and tools in global benchmarking and data analytics projects.

• Supporting on intellectual capital development and new business generation.

The Requirements

• Practical relevant experience in global employee benefits consulting.

• Part qualified/newly qualified actuary with global actuarial expertise and a deep understanding of International and US accounting standards in relation to the reporting of post-employment & post-retirement employee benefits

• A keen interest in the international benefits arena.

• Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively in teams, including remotely with clients and colleagues in other countries.

• Strong project management skills.

• An attention to detail in the delivery of results to clients and colleagues and a proactive approach to working with clients.

• An ability to engage in a consulting relationship with clients at the headquarters and local country level.

• The ability to use Excel to manipulate and analyse data, as well as a working knowledge of MS Powerpoint and MS Word.
