Summary of Role

Reporting directly to the CISO, this role will ensure that the WTW group has defined security policies and standards which are adhered to and monitored. Further to that, any risks associated with non-compliance to those policies and standards are managed effectively. This role will also be responsible for the ongoing information security compliance activities related to global regulation, WTW clients and internal policy.

You will be a senior security leader, with extensive experience leading and managing global teams in complex, regulated organisations. You will be skilled in governing, leading and delivering risk and compliance programmes to time and budget, prioritising activity where required. You will have a flexible and pragmatic approach and be comfortable with agile and responsive delivery techniques.

You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the function including managing a global team, ensuring you are aware of changes to the industry and to regulation across all WTW geographies and locations.

Critically, you must be a highly effective communicator and a supportive team player, taking a consultative approach whilst maintaining the integrity and independence of the Information Security function. You will combine an ability to navigate organisational politics and manage stakeholders, with a talent for operational delivery and a strong sense of accountability for results.

The Role

  • Deputising for CISO or Deputy CISO at any given time across a range of day to day activities

  • Support the development of the information security strategy

  • Define, communicate and maintain a set of information security policies, standards and guidelines which are realistic and adequately protect the group’s information assets

  • Deliver a capability to identify all information security compliance requirements, undertake assessments validating those compliance requirements and report on the group’s compliance status at any given time.

  • Operate an information security risk management function that ensures information security risks are identified, assessed, communicated and acted upon in a proportionate manner.

  • Managing key stakeholder relationships and ensuring support and engagement with Information Security

  • Innovating and leading change

The Requirements

  • Experience in leading and managing people in a global company

  • Leading and delivering risk management in an organisation

  • Thorough understanding of information security regulatory compliance

  • Proven ability to run a structured compliance programme

  • Proven, effective, operational leadership in Information Security

  • Knowledge of information security techniques and practices

  • Knowledge and experience of experience in assessment methodologies and frameworks

  • Experience with IT audit/assurance functions and IT controls

  • Strong IT knowledge, with a strong background in technology and/or risk management

  • Proven ability to work in global collaborative environment

  • Experience of working with a high degree of autonomy, managing own and others’ workload, and delivering to tight timescales

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Qualified to degree level, ideally in IT or security related subject.

  • Information security qualifications (e.g. CISSP, IISP, CISM, GIAC)

  • Project management qualifications (e.g. PMP)
