WTW’s Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) division is looking to recruit a Director of Commercial Underwriting to work with the Pricing, Product, Claims and Underwriting Practice. Providing consulting support to our Commercial Insurance Clients

The Role

The commercial insurance sector is undergoing significant change as companies seek to adapt to;

  • Pressure on underwriting results

  • Increased volatility

  • Opportunities and threats from new technology

  • The advances in analytics and artificial intelligence

The successful candidate will providing consulting support to commercial clients, typical consulting activities would include;

  • Leading UW improvement programmes

  • Remediating poorly performing products and portfolios

  • Aligning the clients technical capabilities with their overall business strategy

  • Supporting the development and deployment of successful UW and Business Strategies

  • Working closely with the pricing team to deliver improved UW and Pricing

Within WTW the successful candidate would have a leadership role within the PPCU Practice. The role would include elements of;

  • Client Management

  • Project Sales

  • Subject matter expert

  • Project leadership

  • Thought leadership in the Commercial UW arena

The Requirements

Providing consulting support to our Commercial Insurance Clients the candidate should have:

  • Significant Case UW experience

  • Strong technical Underwriting background

  • Portfolio / Product or Divisional leadership experience

  • Exposure to large commercial transformation programmes

  • Experience with working with actuarial and analytical teams

The ideal candidate is likely have held a Divisional leadership role or have been a Chief Underwriting Officer.
