The Role

Overview:

The Indonesian retirement marketplace is growing in terms of awareness, existing employer plans needing greater governance, regulations and administrative complexity. The business requires an individual who can be the lead consultant for Retirement Governance Consulting. This will cover regulatory, operational and strategic consulting in the areas of Retirement plans in Indonesia. This would include (but not be limited) areas such as Pensions; Gratuity; Employees’ Provident Funds; National Pension System; Superannuation plans etc.

The individual will provide a lead on client projects from a technical perspective; be project manager on client projects that are larger in nature; have some business development objectives and also generate thought leadership or business propositions around emerging opportunities.

Business Development

  • Identifies and pursues worthwhile opportunities in building new relationships with potential clients

  • Support business development needs through penetration of existing clients.

  • Works with Team Leaders & Consultants to pitch the target market craft the right message to the prospective client.

  • Plays a major role in the close of the sale, either in front of or behind the scenes.

  • Establish and provide suitable agreed management information on sales process and pipeline

  • Pursues and maintains key opinion leader and regulator relationships to gain relevant insights for consulting and thought leadership/market development

  • Develop thought leadership for the practice to help the business positioning in the market

  • Identify service value proposition and business opportunities in the evolving regulatory/market environment to suggest to the business head and team leaders, to then develop go to market approaches.

  • Work with the practice leader to forge alliances/partnerships with subject matter experts where required (e.g. legal / tax)

Consulting Delivery

  • Be Lead consultant on retirement projects to guide/advise and be accountable to clients for their projects

  • Areas of consulting assignments may include (but not limited to)

  • All aspects of Retirement Trusts governance / ad-hoc query resolution

  • Leading Governance review projects (Compliance / Administrative / Trustee / Accounting etc.) aspects of retirement trusts

  • Lead strategic projects related to feasibility and implementation of set up of Trusts / operating model of Trusts / wind up of Trusts / Impact of M&As-corporate restructuring

  • Creating and implementing Governance frameworks and to be a Trustee Board adviser on a regular basis

  • Contribute to training to other consultants in latest developments in the retirement landscape

  • Oversight and peer review work other consultants as required

  • Provide subject matter expertise to other consultants as required and the practice to develop capability within the team

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge

  • Consulting industry experience preferred. Ability to prospect for business, generate leads and qualify them.

  • Proven relationship-building skills and track record for generating revenue.

  • Team player with the ability to collaborate, negotiate, and be diplomatic.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and to coordinate multi-disciplined teams involving colleagues from different practices and offices.

  • Broad business background comfortable in discussions with senior executives at clients

  • Strong business knowledge, understanding of marketplace issues; solid financial acumen.

  • Ability to probe while making clients and prospects feel comfortable discussing their issues and challenges.

The Requirements

  • Min. 5 years working experience in the Retirement Consulting or related Field

  • Deep knowledge of retirement landscape and legislation/regulatory aspects for Indonesia (e.g. PF/Gratuity/Superannuation/NPS etc.)

  • Project manage consulting and implementation projects for clients related to retirement plans

  • Experience to lead advise to HR teams/ Finance / Trustees in the retirement space

  • Excellent command of English both verbal and written

  • A dynamic figure with creativity, good personality and high commitment

  • Be able to work independently and in a team

  • Good computer literacy especially Microsoft Excel

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Actuarial Sciences
