The Role

As an Executive Compensation Senior Consultant, you will plan, design and implement Executive Compensation and incentive programs for existing and new clients. You will work directly with managers and executive leadership of large firms to evaluate and develop compensation and reward strategies that facilitate achievement of business and human capital strategies. You will project manage mid-size projects and will act as a coach and mentor for more junior associates.

Performance Objectives:


  • Serve as the senior Executive Compensation Consultant on projects, ensuring that Executive Compensation strategy aligns with overall human capital strategy

  • Develop and maintain selected key accounts and trusted client relationships at HR Director level in a way that results in long term client relationships with multiple lines of business across practices

  • Project Manage multiple and complex engagements in a way that ensures profitable revenue for TW, associate engagement and development and high client satisfaction

  • Think strategically in partnering with clients to form unique approaches to solving their business problems

  • Provide high quality consulting advice, technical content and deliverables to senior leaders in client companies

  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues

  • Serve as primary, daily contact to clients on delivery of services

  • Manage client expectations and escalate issues as necessary

  • Finalize and present quality deliverables to the client


  • Provide valued-added consulting expertise on large sophisticated projects

  • Develop diverse compensation structures, competitive base pay and incentive approaches that provide seamless delivery of global solutions for our clients

  • Collaborate and contribute to the development, design and implementation of employee executive compensation programs that include total rewards strategy, competitive benchmarking, and pay analyses

  • Be a positive role model of TW values and contribute to building an employer of choice culture of top performing associates committed to client satisfaction, teamwork and excellence in all that is done


  • Meet revenue and billable hour goals as described by manager

  • Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team

  • Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships

  • Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise

  • Assess the marketplace for client opportunities, then nurture qualified leads into profitable new business wins


  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels

  • Serve as mentor to project team associates

  • Lead Executive Compensation engagements, developing leveraged teams that work together effectively and project plans for execution of large, global, engagements

  • Demonstrate extensive leadership ability by effectively mentoring other consultants

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

The Requirements

  • In depth knowledge of tax, corporate finance, regulatory and accounting requirements in order to design Executive Compensation plans

  • Strong subject-matter expertise in compensation, including the areas of tax, corporate finance, regulatory and accounting requirements, annual, equity, stock and other long and short term incentive programs

  • Demonstrated hands on experience with special equity and incentive plans in a broad array of compensation related areas

  • Some experience with special equity and incentive plans for situations such as IPO’s, LBO’s, M&A’s, divestitures and entrepreneurial starts ups will be a plus

  • Excellent analytical skills both in terms of logic of reasoning and analysis of numerical and financial data

  • An executive presence with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills

  • Strong client relationship skills: the ability to influence senior management and the ability to work across all levels of an organization

  • Demonstrated capacity to propose and win profitable new business

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams of high performing consulting professionals

  • Mentoring/coaching skills

  • Self driven achiever with ability to work with ambiguity

  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues

  • Demonstrated value for diversity, excellence and integrity in all that is done

  • Working knowledge of Excel, MS Project, MS Word

  • Bachelor degree required, MBA preferred

  • Interest and ability to travel
