The main focus of the role is oversee the Fund operations function (approximately 18 colleagues) based in Chicago, working closely with colleagues globally to maintain a consistent approach and ensure operations is a single platform, globally. Initially, the primary focus will, from an operational perspective, be to help manage our US funds platform, including launching new Fund types; with a longer-term requirement to oversee all of the North American Delegated operations.



• Perform a key role in overseeing WTW’s US Funds platform, and associated future initiatives

• Oversee and govern the Operations team based in Chicago; which has a goal of implementing fund and cash transactions on an error-free basis

• Ensure appropriate procedures and controls are in place to support the management of assets on behalf of our clients and funds

• Work closely with colleagues in other offices (predominantly the UK) to ensure there is good communication and consistency as our operating model and platforms evolve

• Be responsible for the production of Management Information to assist with management of the team, and for reporting to the global head

• Work within a changing environment, pushing for efficiency and risk-control improvements on a continuous basis

• Oversee the day-to-day working relationship with our Funds administrator in the US


• Manage the local teams, including US fund ops, portfolio servicing/cash and transitions; and provide strong day-to-day guidance

• Liaise confidently with other teams within the business, including Portfolio Management, Client Service and Compliance

• Maintain close connections with global counterparts helping maintain an environment of excellence


• Work directly with internal clients, such as the portfolio management group, to deliver to pre-agreed standards; for example trade turnaround times.

• Provide significant input to the initiatives of the business as required, for example working with Product for new fund launches

• When working with external clients, demonstrate deep operational knowledge and ability to deliver.


• Good operational experience at an asset manager, OCIO provider, or similar

• Ability to lead teams and be a key decision-maker

• Working knowledge of a multi-manager, multi-asset management environment, including:

o Trade management

o Cash management

o Fund accounting

o Audit

o Custodian/administrator oversight

o Procedures and controls (risk management).

• Experience with Group Trusts and CIT would be useful; as would a good knowledge of the structure of US DB and DC pension fund clients

• Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget

• Experience worked with or implementing transactional systems

• Problem solving skills and a desire to work in a risk-managed and controls-based environment

• Effective oral and written communication skills to ensure that information and knowledge is shared appropriately

• Team-player with the ability to fit seamlessly into the wider global team of associates all focused on delivering work of exceptional quality
