Responsible for business development with accountability for the management of dedicated broker channel partners. The Liazon Sales Engineer will develop channel partnership relationships within assigned partners and will be responsible for assisting with sales support for all potential Liazon prospects.

The Role

Relationship Management

  • Understand the broker partners’ business and needs

  • Identify producers and decision makers within broker channel, establish and maintain active relationships with these key partners

  • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required

  • Liaise with broker partners and build strong relationships

  • Facilitates the transition of relationships to others as appropriate and takes on new client and/or prospect relationships

  • Draw on expertise within specialist technical teams within Liazon

  • Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximize the penetration of key target markets


  • Lead and manage multiple client engagements

  • Provide Broker and Client system demonstrations as requested

  • Finalize and present quality deliverables to clients via broker partner

  • Ensure progress against established budget, timeline and quality standards


  • Perform technical review of all sold Liazon clients delivered by broker partners

  • Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches to broker sales practices

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the delivery of the Liazon platform


  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

  • Be the Liazon go-to-expert in matters relating to Marketplace consulting

  • Partner and communicate effectively in a team environment with consultants, developers and other team members

  • Participate in local, regional and national meetings as requested

As a Liazon Sales Engineer you will serve a key role by serving as the link between external broker partners and our internal Liazon Marketplace operations team. You will contribute to the sales and implementation of new clients by serving as the key contact for the broker that has engaged with prospective client. You will also consult to brokers concerning implementation best practices, provide ongoing technical support, and train broker teams. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical, analytical, problem solving, leadership, communication and consulting skills. Note that this role will involve travel to broker sites.

  • Experience in insurance or brokerage sector

  • Knowledge of insurance products Employee Benefits

  • Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associates, insurers and external specialists

  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills

  • Good organizational skills in terms of managing workload, planning and organization

  • Teamwork

  • Provide value added consulting to brokers based on implementation best practices

  • Assist with analyzing, defining and documenting project requirements and business processes

  • Provide ongoing technical support to brokers

  • Trouble shoot technical issues and problems, partnering with other Liazon team members

  • Train brokers on use of systems

  • Ensure systems perform according to broker and client approved specification

  • Flexibility with regard to regional travel that can range from 10-50%

  • An undergraduate degree is preferred
